Getting started

The basics of Smart PDF Pilot and how to get it.

What is Smart PDF Pilot?

Smart PDF Pilot is a PDF app for Mac. It brings everyday PDF tasks into one desktop workspace: editing text and images, organizing pages, annotating, filling forms and signing documents.

Is Smart PDF Pilot a browser-based PDF editor?

No. Smart PDF Pilot is a Mac desktop app. You install it on your Mac and work with your PDFs in the app. This website is where you learn about the app, compare plans and get support.

Where do I download it?

Smart PDF Pilot is available on the Mac App Store. Use the Download on the App Store button on this site to open the listing.

Is Smart PDF Pilot free to try?

Yes. Editing, signing, drawing and viewing are free. Pro (₹799 per month or ₹5,900 per year in India) adds saving your edited PDFs, share and export, merge, split and extract pages, and password protection. See the pricing page for the details.

▤

Editing PDFs

Change content and organize the pages of a document.

Can I edit text inside a PDF?

Yes. You can edit existing text in a page or add new text where you need it. Basic editing is included in Free, and Pro adds advanced editing.

Can I add images to a PDF?

Yes. Use the Add Image tool to place an image on a page, then position it where it belongs.

Can I rearrange, delete or add pages?

Yes. The page tools let you organize pages, rotate them, split a document or remove pages you no longer need. You can also merge several PDFs into one.

Does it support annotations?

Yes. You can annotate pages, highlight important details, and draw or add shapes to mark up a document for review.

⌗

Scanned PDFs & OCR

Work with documents that come from a scanner or a photo.

What is OCR?

OCR (optical character recognition) reads the text in an image of a page and turns it into text you can select and search. OCR is included in the Pro plan.

Can I work with scanned PDFs?

A scanned PDF is made of page images, so its text usually can't be selected or searched. With OCR in Pro, Smart PDF Pilot can recognize that text so you can work with the document more easily.

Signatures & forms

Sign and complete documents without printing them.

Can I sign a PDF without printing it?

Yes. Use the Sign tool to add your signature to a PDF on your Mac, then place it where it is needed. Signatures are included in Pro.
