1. Who we are

Smart PDF Pilot (“the app”) is a PDF editor for Mac published by TGSane Technologies (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the app and when you visit this website.

2. What we collect

We do not collect, store, transmit or sell personal data through the app. Specifically, the app:

• has no user accounts or sign-in;
• contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools, and no third-party tracking software;
• does not connect to any server that we run, and works fully offline;
• does not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

For this reason, our App Store privacy information is “Data Not Collected”.

3. Your documents

Documents you open stay on your Mac. The app reads only the files you choose to open, and writes only to the places you choose when you save, export or share. The macOS App Sandbox enforces this: the app has no access to your other files.

While you work, the app may keep temporary working copies in its private sandbox area on your Mac. They never leave your computer. We cannot see, read, copy or recover your documents.

4. Information stored on your Mac

The app stores a small amount of information locally, only to make the app work the way you left it:

• Preferences, for example your watermark settings and whether you have already seen the welcome screen.
• Saved signatures. If you choose to keep a signature in Fill & Sign, a small image of it is stored in the app’s preferences on your Mac so you can reuse it. You can delete it from the Fill & Sign window at any time.
• Recent documents. The Open Recent list is kept by macOS, not by us. Clear it with File > Open Recent > Clear Menu.

None of this is sent to us. Deleting the app (and, if you wish, its data folder) removes it.

5. On-device processing

All processing happens on your Mac. Text recognition (OCR) uses Apple’s on-device frameworks, and PDF editing uses the open-source PDFium library running locally inside the app. No document content is sent to any cloud service, AI service or other third party.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

Smart PDF Pilot Pro is bought and managed through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and subscription under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We never receive your name, Apple Account, or payment details.

The app uses Apple’s StoreKit on your Mac to check whether your subscription is active, and keeps that proof of purchase on your Mac. Apple may give us aggregated, non-identifying reports, such as the number of downloads and subscriptions.

7. Passwords and protection features

If you use Password Protection, the password is applied to your file on your Mac and is never sent to us. We cannot recover a forgotten password, so keep it somewhere safe. The optional on-screen and print watermark text is stored only on your Mac.

8. Sharing and disclosure

The app gives us no personal data to share. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. If you email us, we would disclose your message only if the law requires it.

9. If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and to fix problems in the app. We keep it for as long as needed to handle your request and for up to 24 months afterwards in case of follow-up questions, and you can ask us to delete it sooner.

10. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect data from anyone. Because nothing is collected, nothing is collected from children either.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EEA, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of personal data held about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to complain to your data protection authority.

The app collects no personal data, so the only personal data we may hold is what you send us by email. To use any of these rights, write to support@tgsane.com. We will answer within 30 days.

12. Security

Because your documents stay on your Mac, they are protected by your Mac’s own security and by the App Sandbox. We recommend keeping macOS up to date, turning on FileVault, and keeping backups of important files.

13. This website

These pages are plain static pages: they use no cookies, no scripts, no analytics and no third-party fonts. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and diagnostics.

14. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how your information is handled, we will also say so in the app’s update notes.
